Daughter of a Kurdish exile who took refuge in Friuli towards the end of the 20th century, Ève Nissim intends to give free rein to her passion for painting in order to express her existential emotions and her attachment to peasant civilization. Faced with the illusions of the followers of a materialistic modernity and historical upheavals, Ève opposes her ideal of beauty as well as the cheerful friendship of characters who preserve the secrets of nature and the memory of age-old traditions.

This novel was translated by Jean-Igor Ghidina, lecturer, who teaches Italian language and literature at the Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand. His publications include:
