Life passionately
By republishing these interviews published thirty years ago, we are struck by how much the current world is the fruit of yesterday's errors and failings. A forty-year-old priest and visionary, François Lefort warned at the time of the inevitability of mass immigration if North-South inequalities were not reduced.
This testimony must be read in perspective. The carefree attitude of the Trente Glorieuses prevailed; François Lefort, who had studied at Nanterre in 1968, never gave up this freedom of tone, tinged with humor, to denounce racism and inequality without beating around the bush, in the name of the dignity of each person, whatever their social condition or country of origin.
Listening to this unique, courageous and committed voice reminds us of the collective blindness of yesterday in order to better identify our denials and cowardice of today.
